The single "whippy-stick", is used both by Repenique, and Tamborim players. Tamborim players have a whole host of variants to consider when choosing their beaters, number of prongs length etc. which is all personal taste. For Repenique players, "whippy-sticks" are almost always used for Samba Reggae style playing, and are fairly invariably single whip sticks. This beater is 16.75" and has great flex for that Samba Reggae "bounce".
